What's The Buzzzzz About Walking One Step At A Time



Hello, and welcome to our website....

Because of the cold weather here in Michigan, I have some extra time to do this to let you know what Bubba and I are up too. From a daily walk to our hiking trails throughout Michigan. On an avg. we try and get in about 6 miles a day walking, but rather try for at least 8 miles a day. I have the perfect partner for mobility to get in and around my town, Bubba..

I have been on a weight-loss goal since I had received him from Leader Dogs for the Blind in May of 2010. In the picture above I was 276 pounds, as of January 2012 I was down fifty pounds. Gone from a size 46 pants to 38, and from a 4X to 2X.. with still more to go. I plan on finishing this goal this summer and being down to my "doctors" suggested weight of 195. I have a team of doctors and a dear friend working with me, making sure I eat properly. More about that on our about Tom and Bubba page..

Now you want to talk about tennis shoes, I highly recommend Skechers, buy two pair so you can change them out every-other day. These will last you the summer, if you are walking the miles we are.  I have worn out both pair of Skechers to the insole of bottom of the foot in 10 months. Most tennis shoes I have found out only last about of 140 miles of walking, these are the 30 to 40 dollar pairs. Meaning every month you will be buying shoes.
